Before using it though, you must ensure that you own an OpenWeatherMap app already. With just a cursor move and few clicks, detailed weather data is presented right in your face. It contains valuable weather information that's just enough to keep yourself up-to-date with the forecasts, It'll help you efficiently plan your getaways and events. Tray Weather is a top-notch weather utility tool for the desktop. On top of that, the displayed icon changes at night depending on the current moon phase. ![]() You will only need to move your cursor over the system tray icon to view the current temperature and weather description in a tooltip. If you don't have one yet, you can create it freely on their website and it will automatically detect your location after that. To fully enjoy this software, you must have an existing OpenWeatherMap account in order to obtain an API key. It also includes an 'always on top' mode or it can display the current temperature from your system tray. It can change colors depending on the temperature range (more details in the GitHubpage). It shows a single icon, following the style of other Windows 10 tray icons, with the CPU temperature at the top, and the GPU temperature at the bottom. It displays the current, minimum and maximum temperature for every core. Also, I never really liked how they looked on the system tray. For third-party applications I recommend Core Temp. ![]() ![]() Apart from the current weather information, it also serves weather data for the upcoming week and the forecasts are presented in a graph form. Windows does not provide the necessary tools for monitoring your CPU temperature. An error icon and notification will appear if the tool experienced a network error or if there's information that can't be fetched. The app will display the temperature for all cores or only the hottest ones, per your choice. The tray icon tooltip displays the location, weather description, and temperature while the tray menu gives you access to various weather and configuration dialogs. From here, you can add Core Temp to the System Tray for easier monitoring.
